Grandma has come to visit and she has brought a souvenir for Harry. She has knitted him a doggie sweater. Harry feels warm and snug in information technology, but he but hates the flowers. His dog friends all laugh at him when he goes for a walk. He decides to get rid of the sweater.

How he does that and what happens after is the subject field of this story.

I read this book soooooo many times as a kid. Partly I was but obsessed with dogs (okay, I yet kind of am). Merely besides, this story is just really, really cute! I reread it for the first time since babyhood yesterday and yep, I still think it's swell. I call up mayhap I could identify with Harry having to vesture something he didn't similar (although for the most part my parents permit me wearing apparel myself, which, permit me tell y'all, was brave of them), and it's dainty that in the end Harry gets his mode without hurt I read this book soooooo many times as a kid. P.S. I didn't just randomly choice this up to run across if it was still good; I got it for a friend who is having a baby presently and is collecting friends' childhood favorites for their abode library (hi, Emily!), and this was my choice. And and then, you know, I wanted to make sure information technology hadn't somehow become inappropriate over the years, like maybe Al Perkins'

Lu knows this story from the Scholastic dvd, merely was pleased to read it with me. His favorite office was the unraveling of the sweater past the bird. He also enjoyed Harry's failed attempts to ditch the sweater. The illustrations bothered him a lot though. They all have a very green tinge, at least in the copy we borrowed. The book is generally green and brown. The effect was that the moment the book concluded, Lu got out crayons and newspaper to "color the book better."
